Phoebe Adjei-Frimpong is a Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University who joined the Optical and Bio-Sensing Laboratory in Fall 2024. Her research focuses on the development of affordable point-of-care diagnostic technologies designed for use in low-resource and underserved settings. Her current work explores non-enzymatic isothermal amplification strategies combined with paper-based microfluidic platforms to enable highly sensitive detection of cardiac biomarkers. This research aims to advance accessible diagnostic tools capable of providing rapid, reliable health assessments where conventional laboratory infrastructure is limited. Phoebe earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana. She is passionate about developing translational biomedical technologies that expand access to early disease detection and improve healthcare outcomes globally.
