Optical Bio-Sensing Laboratory

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Daniel Osas

Daniel is an undergraduate biomedical engineering student at Texas A&M University who joined the Optical Biosensing Laboratory (OBSL) in January 2026. His research focuses on the fabrication and development of wearable gait-analysis systems and electro-gastrogram (EGG) sensors for noninvasive physiological monitoring. In addition to his work in OBSL, Daniel is a Cohort ’27 Representative in the Zachry Leadership Program (ZLP), where he develops cross-functional leadership and communication skills. He is also a member of the AggieSat Laboratory ADAM project, where he contributes to the development of a full-body mechanical counterpressure (MCP) EVA suit. Daniel aims to leverage his experiences in OBSL, ZLP, and ADAM to help develop the next generation of surgical robotics and advanced spacesuits.
